When Is the Best Time to Book a Newborn Photoshoot? Everything You Need to Know!
Welcoming a newborn is one of the most precious moments in life, and capturing those first few weeks is something you'll treasure forever. If you are considering booking a newborn photoshoot you may be wondering when the best time is to secure your spot. Here’s everything you need to know to make sure you don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.
When Should You Book a Newborn Photoshoot?
The ideal time to book your newborn session is around your 20 week scan. Choosing to book your session around this time in your pregnancy guarantees you a spot and allows plenty of time for you to join us for a maternity session too if you would like one.
By booking early, you are ensuring that your session is reserved and your memories are captured during that magical newborn stage when babies are still so tiny and sleepy. The perfect conditions for creating those sweet, curled-up poses. If you are reading this and haven't pre booked your space and your baby is here please do still get in touch! With pre booked babies often arriving early or lave I can usually find a space in the diary for last minute bookings!
Once baby arrives we do the photoshoot around 10-14 days old. During this time babies are usually still quite sleepy and feeding is more established which makes makes capturing those classic newborn photos much easier.
Flexible Dates for Peace of Mind
One of the most common concerns from expectant parents is the uncertainty around their baby’s date of arrival. What if your little one arrives earlier or later than expected? Don’t worry! Your session is booked based on your due date however it is completely flexible. If your baby arrives past their due date or makes an early appearance, we can adjust the session date to make sure we get those gorgeous newborn images you are looking for.
Why Pre-Book? Spaces Are Limited!
Newborn photoshoots are incredibly special, but they also require a lot of time and preparation and keeping flexible dates in the diary for any early/late arrivals. This is why I am only able to take a limited number of bookings each month to ensure I can give each family the dedicated time and attention they deserve. Once my calendar is full, I will always try to accommodate last minute bookings but I can't guarantee this.
